“With EXI|ST.ATION ASP eight interdisciplinary artists came together for six weeks at Anton-Saefkow-Platz in Berlin-Fennpfuhl, where they set up a temporary artistic stop (German: Haltestelle): a three metre high/deep/long cube with semi-transparent outer walls. During their site-specific research the artists talked to people at Anton-Saefkow-Platz in Berlin-Lichtenberg about living together on the square and about the history, present and future of the neighbourhood. The goal was to activate the cube in an artistic-participative process as a 'third place' for testing new community spaces. “

To resume our 6 week research we prepared non-stop durational experience in the middle of a square surrounded by Multi-flat DDR “Plattenbau” buildings. The place where the history is captured in architectural forms and still affecting the co-living situation and the cultural environment of the neighborhood.
The most ”burning” questions for us as artists were: How do we perceive and be perceived by others?
How do we create language to communicate or communicate without language?
How do we connect to the space through our personal memories and feelings?
What about security, social community, equality?

For the final event, I created a video-sound installation titled ROUNDABOUT. The piece invites participants to walkaround a cube, and reveal video message word by word, appearing on different sides of the cube. The visuals areaccompanied by sound and the artist’s voice, delivered through silent disco headphones. The text invites people totreflect on the ability to be open to a stranger and see poetry in mundane. And at the end invites the audeince to enterthe cube and dance together in format of silent disco.
